Alecia Grounds, DPT

Alecia Grounds loves the diversity of people she gets to help by being a physical therapist. She likes the challenge that each person brings with their own unique issues. Alecia decided to pursue physical therapy after getting the chance to work as a student athletic trainer in high school where she grew up in Grayslake. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Carroll College in Wisconsin. Alecia is certified in the POSE running program, Functional Movement Screening and Graston technique. She loves traveling with her husband to warm, sunny places like St. Lucia, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and even boring old Florida for a lot of rest and relaxation on the beach.

One of biggest wins Alecia can share is from working with a fellow who had Achilles tendon pain for 20 years after injuring it while in the army. He had almost given up on running pain free. Alecia has great experience with runners and in 3 weeks his pain was almost completely gone and by 8 weeks he was running in 10K races and faster than he ever run before.
