OVERVIEW

Hip Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis in the hip is caused by the wear of the cartilage coverings on the ball (the head femur) or the socket (the socket). This condition is more severe if you are able to bear weight on the affected limb. The range of motion can be limited, especially in internal rotation and hip extension. Recent research has shown that joint mobilization and stretching can provide significant pain relief.
